John Mayer

John Mayer is a renowned American musician born in 1977. He pursued higher education in music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, but his tenure was cut short when he relocated to Atlanta in 1997. It was during this period that he collaborated with fellow guitarist Clay Cook to form the rock duo Lo-Fi Masters, although the partnership was short-lived. Following the split, Mayer dedicated himself to performing at local clubs, where he honed his craft and garnered a modest following.

Mayer's breakthrough came when he performed at the 2000 South by Southwest festival, which led to his signing with Aware Records, a subsidiary of Columbia Records. He had already released his debut EP, Inside Wants Out, in 1999. His subsequent studio albums, Room for Squares (2001) and Heavier Things (2003), achieved significant critical and commercial acclaim. The single "Your Body Is a Wonderland" from Room for Squares earned him a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, while Heavier Things reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the music industry.
