John Bercow

Brytyjski polityk, Spiker Izby Gmin

John Bercow is a British politician born in 1963. He had a notable career in politics, serving as the Member of Parliament for Buckingham from 1997 to 2019. During his tenure, he held the position of Speaker of the House of Commons from 2009 to 2019, making him a prominent figure in British politics.

Bercow's political affiliation initially was with the Conservative Party, but he took on a non-partisan role as speaker. Notably, he was the first MP to be elected speaker without prior experience as a deputy speaker since Selwyn Lloyd in 1971. After resigning as speaker in 2019, Bercow chose not to seek re-election as an MP and subsequently left Parliament. He later joined the Labour Party in 2021, but his membership was suspended in 2022.
