Avrohom Bornsztain
rabin, założyciel i pierwszy cadyk chasydzkiej dynastii Sochaczew
Avrohom Bornsztain was a prominent Polish rabbi who lived from 1838 to 1910. He was a renowned authority in Jewish law, serving as a leading posek in Europe during the late 19th century. Bornsztain's influence extended beyond his role as a rabbi, as he founded the Sochatchover Hasidic dynasty and became its first Rebbe. His exceptional knowledge and leadership earned him a respected position within the Jewish community.
Bornsztain's legacy is perhaps most notably preserved through his published Torah responsa, titled Avnei Nezer, which has become a widely recognized halakhic classic. The Avnei Nezer has had a lasting impact on Jewish scholarship and continues to be studied and revered. Following his passing, his son Shmuel succeeded him as Rebbe of the Sochatchover Hasidic dynasty. Shmuel went on to become a notable author in his own right, penning the esteemed work Shem Mishmuel, ensuring the continuation of his father's legacy and influence within the Jewish community.
