Arnold Rosé was a renowned violinist born in Romania in 1863, who later became a prominent figure in Austrian music. With a career spanning over half a century, he served as the concertmaster of the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic, earning recognition for his exceptional orchestral leadership and chamber music skills. Although he may not have gained widespread international acclaim as a soloist, Rosé's expertise and dedication to his craft earned him a respected position within the musical community.

Throughout his career, Rosé had the opportunity to collaborate with notable composers, including Johannes Brahms and Gustav Mahler, the latter of whom was his brother-in-law.
